Then he anchors the Italian 400 free relay with a 47.18. The fastest split in the event.

I would have thought he would at least be anchoring the Italian 400 medley relay and swimming the 50 free

RE: What about this Italian, Fillipo Magnini?

The guy wins the gold in the 100 free with a 48.43.

I couldn't find him listed in any other events.

In a relay you don't factor in the reaction time becuase everyone can pretty much have like a .2 reaction time. And since a relay exchange is a timing thing and not a reaction you can use both feet forward on the block rather then a track start. Using both feet gives you alot more power off of the block.

RE: What about this Italian, Fillipo Magnini?

I thought he might be a 200 guy when I didn't see his name in the 50, but he didn't even enter that event either.

It's very strange.

That's why I started this thread.

Maybe it is an Italian thing.

RE: What about this Italian, Fillipo Magnini?

He is also pretty good in the 200 free. Probably better in the 200 than in the 50.

RE: What about this Italian, Fillipo Magnini?

He's Italian, what more is there to say. :)
