Oh man. I wanted to be the first to reply! Rats. Michael, your flight back from Melbourne must have been LONG!!! I am so jealous. You got to be at one of the best swim meets in history... I read the first few sentences and when it got really thick I looked at the date. The part about Nike and Speedo being co-sponsors is really a joke! What ever else is true about this situation,Michael got the relay wrong. Oregon won the 200-239 Mixed MR at Worlds(one of my best memories from Worlds.)

Did I ever tell you that you are my favorite coach? (Kerry is just a figurehead really. We know he gets all of his workouts from you. It's been so nice of you to coach two teams really- Manatees and WC. That's how come you're always at our 10:30 workout- you're really, secretly, delivering the next day's workouts huh?) Now, another diabolical, conspiracy has reared its ugly head in Pacific Masters- Brian Stack and Kerry O'Brien are... Sam- I have great respect for you, but for you to state that anyone who complains is hypocritical is a stretch. I have competed Masters for many years, occasionally at a high level, and have consistently refused to compete for any super teams (and I have been asked). So how am I a hypocrite if I comment? Peter, and all I am sorry for my blanket statement. Obviously I don't mean people in your situation. Kudos to you and others for refusing to compete. Michael, great job for the April Fool's. More power to you Pacific LMSC. The records (relays that is) are a joke anyway. I for one commend you for remaining independent for so long, but can't blame you. Anyone on here who complains are being hypocritical in my opinion. I have never understood how getting a record by recruiting other swimmers just for the sake of getting the record means anything. I swim in Arizona, but could care less what team I represent at Nationals, Worlds, etc. If I have the opportunity to swim with a great relay regardless of where we are from I would do it in an instant. The chance to participate with other great swimmers, as well as learn from them is worth it. I have seen numerous times where Arizona Masters has swimmers on our team from many parts of the country. Many of them never live here, they just know someone on the team. It's a joke, but it's the way it is...

I am personally enraged, have contacted the LMSCs on the right coast and have been working up a plan to consolidate into the Atlantic Peninsula Rim Intracoastal Lmsc under the direction of the top administrator in the area, Sloof Day. Needless to say I am very disappointed in Pacific Masters, if in fact they intend to move forward with the "New England Team Model"...I have always admired the swimmers in the Pacific LMSC and their individuality and the their attitude "its not all about winning"...Apparently it is all about winning, WR and NR....What a shame...
