Muppet (or anyone else who may know)-

Why are CZ LCM zones scheduled after Nationals? This is the second year in a row (that I&#39;m aware).

The real reason I ask is that this makes my coach nuts (he&#39;s &quot;quirky&quot;), which in turn, makes the rest of the team nuts because he just won&#39;t stop :blah: :blah: about the timing. I would love to give him a reason; although, he would likely just :blah: about that too.

The pool has hosted Y-Nationals for the last several years, the 1999 and 2000 FINA SCM World Cups, ACC Championship meets and a pair of USMS Colonies Zone SCY Championship meets in addition to several high-profile USAS meets. I believe Michael Phelps&#39; Pool record 200IM was a WR at the time.

The pool&#39;s proximity to Washington, DC, Baltimore and Annapolis make it a great vacation destination as well!!

The renovated Juniper Swim &amp; Fitness Center appears to be a fast pool and COMA is hosting their LMSC meet in April. If it had been earlier, I would have stayed to swim. I swam in this pool before the changes and I like what they have done.

Instead of Bend, I&#39;m choosing to make myself miserable at 5280 in Denver.

yup, Federal Way has been VERRRY kind to me &amp; I&#39;m looking forward to more swims there in May. See you then at the breaststroke corner. I&#39;ve heard that Jane &amp; Hugh are going to hire some guards to protect us breaststrokers from the other people who only think they know what swimming is all about!

Paul:

how&#39;s the knee recovery coming? Missed you last weekend at DU but hope you&#39;ll make it for the state meet. I think I&#39;ll pass on Tucson in the summer. Grace &amp; I are planning on swimming in Houston &amp; that may be the only LC meet for us this year. Meanwhile, we&#39;re training with a nice bottle of 1991 Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet....

I will freely admit to being a wuss in Denver. Growing up I&#39;d go to Denver for 4-6 weeks in mid July which was right after summer league ended here. One day at practice out there made my head spin, forget that! And, the pool water in the summer in Denver is freezing.<div style="clear:both;"></div>

RE: Great Meets with Fast Pools

Our own state meet at Denver University April 13-15 has all the requirements: Great pool, fast swimmers, fun town.....problem is all you wussies out there who are afraid to come swim at 5280&#39;!

Mel....I agree ASU is a faster/better facility and Brophy has not always run the best meets.....however I still think its a fast pool and Arizona always has great swimmers (they seed by time not age) and its a great time of year to be down there....FYI their long course state meet in July is in Tucson (another fast pool).....<div style="clear:both;"></div>

RE: Great Meets with Fast Pools

Y-Nats @ UIPUI. I&#39;ve also had some bad luck in getting the meet management at Brophy to follow through on all the paperwork needed to finish out a meet. As an example, when we were there last summer with you, they didn&#39;t forward the 400 split on my 1500 swim to the Top Ten. I saw the signed paper but it just got lost. It&#39;s a long way to go not to have the details done right (remember what John Wooden said...).

So, instead of going to AZ this spring (I already did the Polar Bear in Tucson), we are headed to the SPMA SCY champs in Santa Clarita. Don&#39;t know if this is a particularly fast pool, but we&#39;ll give it a try.
