Ok, so I'm looking at the Mariners site again and I was a little wrong on a few things. We can get group rate tickets for 10 or more people, but we have to call and reserve them. If you have a group of 40 or more you get a bunch of extra perks including the scoreboard recognition, which we dont' really need, because my brother said he could get it for us. Just in case I missed something else, here's the link to the group seciton of the Mariners site... seattle.mariners.mlb.com/.../group.jsp From what I understand though, if we want to gurantee seats all together it might be best to buy in advance.

Don't forget about me and my daughter. :wave: I asked her again tonight and she said she really wants to go. Of course I wont' forget about you. Karen, do you think your whole team will want to go? We should probably find out for as sure as we can how many want to go to the game because if we do manage to get a group together then we should probably buy the tickets pretty soon. Also people who are going, but not necessarily with a team, but still want to go the game, let me know!! Sounds like we might be able to scratch together 40 people. YAY!

Thursday would be fine. There's no deadline, I just wanted to get it moving. Give people time to figure stuff out before hand...rather than trying to do it all the week of Nationals or something. I like the idea of another thread....get it all in one place. I'll go do that.

Ok, I've got 5 for sure so far from my team and a chance for about 7 more. Plus Floyd and his daughter and Karen. So we've got 8 guranteed right? I was going to call the Mariners office and see about groups. I thought maybe we could reserve a block of tickets rather than paying for them all up front. I'd hate to buy 40 tickets and then not use them all and not get paid back. I was going to see if they would let us do like they do hotel rooms for weddings. Block out a section and certain number of tickets, then if you don't order them by a certain date your out of luck and have to try and get them at the game. So if everyone who's interested in going would let me know how many people from their team they think are going by Tuesday, Wed. at the latest, then I'll call later this week and check on it!! The game is Friday, May 18, starting at 7:05 p.m.

Hi, I sniffed around at our meet today, and a lot of people sounded interested. We don't have practice tomorrow at all, but Leianne Crittenden suggested posting it at the pool. To give people more time, can I let you know Thursday, or is there some sort of a deadline? I'd venture to guarantee about 10 from our team (WCM), but perhaps more... Why don't you start a separate thread and title it "MLB at Nationals, wanna go?" or something like that? Perhaps people like Jim Clemmons from Oakland,CA might want to go? I think there are three from his team going. I'd be interested to see what he looks like with clothes on! ;) (He swam a few races with my hubby this weekend) :) Can't wait. I'm more excited for this than the psych sheets :)

Kyra, We're at our Pac Champs all weekend, so I will try to remember to ask everyone tomorrow... we have between 25-30 going to Nationals. I have a different roommate now, Joan in her 70s, and she didn't sound to up for it--- I'll have to be quiet as I sneak back in our room then!!! I'll let'cha know. I'm really excited. I can't wait to meet everybody! :smooch:

Good news!! My brother is going to talk with the scoreboard guy and try to get our group recognized on the scoreboard...so we should be there at the beginning of the game to see it! And he's going to talk to the guy who runs the jumbotron and see what he can do and find out about group rate tickets (but the website said 40 or more, so he may not find out anything different). :D It might be better to get the tickets online, it'll definatley lock in that we all get tickets in the same section. Any ideas how many people will actually be going? Did everyone talk to teammates and what not? That'll factor in when buying tickets and especially if we can get some group deal.

The ball game sounds like a winner. It's something my daughter and I had talked about doing anyway. I also signed up for the Gold Medal sponsor and the Saturday night social. Anyone else sign up for these things? Maybe we can arrange a get together or something at one of these.

I would love to get a box, but their a lot more then I expected....like 2,000 and up. We can definatley do a mini-meet up. Maybe we can all grab lunch on Saturday or something. I'm sure we'll all run into each other anyway. I'll be lane stalking so I can find out who's who. ;)

Definately! Safeco has some healthy options, but with garlic fries and chocolate covered strawberries, why would you want too?!?! For sure invite teammates! The more the merrier! This early in the season, I don't think they'd sell out. Espeically since they're not playing huge rival teams. If we get a lot of people going though, we might be able to get a group discount. Maybe we could pool money and get a box. ;) Even though I am not going (I wish I could though!!), I like this suggestion of getting a box. If its anything at all like the boxes we have at our local minor league park then it sounds like a real blast (only I'm sure these are even larger). I've been to several parties in the sky boxes at our local minor league park and we always had a really good time there!....plenty of food and beer....and they probably are quite large so that there will be plenty of room to mingle and watch the game. A great setting for a social event like this IMO.....Just a thought. I feel so left out now :( :shakeshead: Newmastersswimmer

Sounds good. That is cheap!!! Looks like good seats. This will be the first MLB game I've been to in the last 7 years without kids or dogs- I can be an adult! :drink: Wait, we have to be adult?? Really? I thought that's what I was when the kids ARE around. I didn't expect this from you Karen, what with the naked bachelorette parties and SB bouncie tents and all. Sigh.

YAY!!! I'm excited now! I sent an e-mail out to all my teammates who are going to Nationals. My coach sounded excited so she'll probably come and hopefully some of the others will come too. This should be a really good time!!

I like section 186 or 187 the best. Here's a map: seattle.mariners.mlb.com/.../seating_pricing.jsp The seats are above the bullpen behind 3rd base....and $14. Yay cheap! They have group rates too, but only for 40 or more. Are that many people gonna go? The site says something about 12 seat limit, so we'd have to buy tickets separate at the game if we all definatey wanted to sit together.

Perhaps as the meet gets closer, we could PM our cell phone numbers so we can firm up the plans. Is there a preferable section to sit in at Safeco (numbered or lettered) that we could all try to get? For example: if the 400 IM takes too long, we would know what tix to ask for when we got to the game... PS I found out today that we are at the Courtyard Marriott. I like the section up above the bull pen, right under the jumbotron. They're cheap tickets too. Not sure the section name, but I'll look it up. Maybe we can all meet at the pool, and then leave together and have like a convoy to get to the game so that we all end up there together and can see about a large group discount.

My hubby and I will be out for the week, and a ball game was on the list of "things to do", so that sounds like a great idea! (Also, was going to mention the possibility of group discount--we could get a section together & cheap tix!!) Dinner without a game would also be a great. The Forumite dinner at Colonies Zones was a blast! One thing to note, though. We took over a back section of the restaurant and spent about 15 minutes rearranging the furniture so we could all sit and talk, see each other, make introductions, etc. So, finding a "casual" place, or some place that understands what happens when "loud flyers" and breaststroke purists get together is critical! We don't want to offend the locals with loud trash talk and copius laughter. Hooray for the smoking ban! :groovy:
