I love my EQ suits too! I discovered them when I was looking for a maternity racing style suit. Speedo had one, but it was only available in the UK. Then someone told me about EQ. :applaud: It looks just like a Speedo SuperPro Back and was SO comfy . . . and yes, it stayed put. I liked it so much I ordered a regular suit after Mini-me arrived. :) They have polyester too, but I haven&#39;t tried one.

My only complaint is the waiting. I tend to be impulsive, so if I want a new suit NOW, ordering doesn&#39;t work for me.<div style="clear:both;"></div>

RE: Is Swimming Eating Its PANTS?

That is very kind of you Swimstud - at 48 to be consider any type of distraction is a round a bout compliment....I think.

It took me a while to convert, but it is the only way to go for a workout suit. The only problem I have with them is they last TOO long! I am addicted to buying new suits--like different colors, patterns, whatever. The poly suits don&#39;t wear out, so I can&#39;t buy new ones as often! (Well, I can, but I have to hide them in a drawer so my hubby doesn&#39;t see them all at once:laugh2: .)

To those complaining of &quot;coverage&quot; issues... Some of the recent, but older Speedo designs had a back design on the female suit that caused some creepage issues. The &quot;suit wedgie&quot; is quite uncomforable, but a solution was discovered by some of the age-groupers I swim with. One day I was complaining about being indecent in the pool and one of the girls took out a pair of scissors and cut the back of the suit out! It was a little scary at the time, but it solved the wedgie problem:applaud: !

It only works on the suits with the thin straps &amp; the old fly-back design. The straps do not criss-cross in the back. They are attached about 1.5 inches apart to another band of trim. There is patterned material below this leading to the oval back opeining. WARNING--Only cut in areas sealed by trim! Start at the side where the back meets the front &amp; cut along the trim line BELOW the strap attachment to the other side. You will end up with a piece of material that looks a bit like this } . The strap &amp; back attachment become just the narrow piece of trim that makes up the shoulder strap.

Since there is very little material on the back (think the new Flip-turns design suits), it opens up the top a little &amp; eliminates the wedgie pull. It also makes a toned back look awesome!<div style="clear:both;"></div>

RE: Is Swimming Eating Its PANTS?

I&#39;ve had that issue. Unfortunately, Arena doesn&#39;t make the same nylon suit anymore, I don&#39;t know when I bought it, back in 2002 or so. Stop me if you&#39;ve heard these before...

Once as I was walking on the pool deck to the showers a high school boy saw me and his eyes bugged out staring at my chest and his jaw banged against his sternum. Probably scorched his retinas. I got the message ...

We had one Masters swimmer doing backstroke in her daughter&#39;s faded out yellow suit. The funniest thing was when she saw me on the deck and started waving &quot;hi&quot; while exposing herself. A male age group coach&#39;s remark was &quot;Yeah, we all noticed that right away but I&#39;m not sayin&#39; nuthing.&quot; A female coach nicely clued her in.

Another time a male Masters guy got out during practice to use the bathroom and his suit completely tore down the back seam. He didn&#39;t notice in the lockerroom. One of the women in my group discretely told him when he came back on deck, &quot;HEY !! RANDY !! Your suit&#39;s completely ripped out in the butt&quot;. Great fun for all.<div style="clear:both;"></div>

RE: Is Swimming Eating Its PANTS?

I have a Speedo Lycra suit that completely faded out in two swims. It&#39;s my first Endurance suit but has lasted a year already and shows no signs of deterioration. The Poly suit lasts me 4-5 years and its always the stitching that goes but even then I don&#39;t worry about it much as I have the Endurance underneath and the drag suit is a drag suit. Ultimately, the elastic around the top crumbles and then its time for a new one. I tried the Endurance without the drag suit but found it traps air and then you have a bubble moving around when you swim. That was a bit unnerving.<div style="clear:both;"></div>

RE: Is Swimming Eating Its PANTS?

As for telling someone their suit is getting ... um ... transparent... maybe the best thing is simply to tell them. A woman took me aside once in the locker room much earlier in my swimming days and told me that my suit was essentially see-through. (It was a white suit... and I got a good deal on it... hah! what did I know back then!) Very embarrassing, but thanks to her, I got a new suit before I swam again. Even though the woman seemed maybe a little too proud of herself for announcing to me that my suit was transparent, I figure she did me a favor no matter.

AquaFeisty--Maybe something general to your class, to the effect that chlorine really eats suits and so it&#39;s wise to check your suit periodically, especially if you&#39;ve had it for a while, to make sure it&#39;s not become too transparent. Without actually saying to any individual that their suit is ... blowing their cover. They&#39;re just not forgiving (for putting on) and then compressing (once on) like a lycra suit would be. All the brands seem to fit a little differently and your lycra suit size will not necessarily be the same size for the polyester. Best advice is make sure you try on polyester suits!!

I&#39;ve been a subscriber to the &#39;two old suits equals one new suit&#39; philosophy. But I draw the line when the lycra suit disintegrates and leaves those lycra pills all over your body. Ewwwww.

And yeah, Wren, I haven&#39;t yet figured out the polite way to let someone know their suit is shot. I teach water aerobics (yes, with noodles even!!) and the dead-suit effect is quite common. Especially the no-butt look (I compulsively check the opacity of my suits because of this.) I got one a little over a year ago - one of the slightly cheaper brands. I&#39;ve worn it 3-5x/wk since then.
