I just found it. I have a new hero: Bill Kirby. I was just amazed, really. Now that I'm learning what to look for in good form, I watch him with awe.
So, anyway, do any of you own that DVD and is it worth the 60 bucks??? Seems steep, but

RE: Swim Smooth DVD

I am going to see him in the summer, when I head to Toronto. Yeah Bill is great to watch hey? A beautiful swimmer and former Thorpe-Hackett-Klim team-mate from Sydney 2000 where they won gold in the 4 x 200 freestyle. We had a lot of fun when we put the DVD together!

Now I know my opinion is going to be biased and please excuse me if I'm out of place for posting this here, but we just received this review from a chap in New York:

"It's kind of cheating writing to you before I finish the program. I've only done 20 of the sessions, but my first race of the season happened over the weekend.

So, where am I? Last year I was usually leaving the water in the bottom third of all of the swimmers. (Top part of that third, but bottom third none the less.)

I finished my race in the top third! (Bottom of the top, but top third!) I figure I had about 150 people that I didn't have to try to pass while biking and running. For the first time I swam in the pack. Usually I'm off on my own, waiting for the next wave to swim over me. Now I get to enjoy the kicks and slaps for the entire swim. Hmmm...

Well anyway, Thanks so much!"

...and in Australia they are currently running an article about it in the swim section of the "Triathlon and Multisport Magazine" which can be read at: www.swimsmooth.com/.../TRIandMS.pdf

I've been reading a number of your threads Mark about getting into swimming and your breathing etc and I know that you're very keen to learn. If you can drop me some video footage of your stroke as per the instructions at www.swimsmooth.com/ssd.htm I'll provide you with a critique of your stroke and you can make a decision based upon that. How does that sound? No obligation, just keen to help. If you want some further background reading (there's a lot of it!) check out www.swimsmooth.com/freearticles.htm which should also be of use to you.

Well, best of luck with your swimming Mark. Please drop me an email at paul@swimsmooth.com if you're keen to try the Swim Smooth Doctor service (F.o.C)

Cheers

Paul
