Arrogant *** Ale from Stone Brewing Co. is mighty fine when you want to relax after a hard practice, a good meet, a bad meet, or just about any other time.

Just remember to serve Space Shuttle Rose wine from Bully Hill, for the non-beer drinkers.

RE: Beer or Icecream Poll

For her 21 st birthday, my daughter ordered a beer float after dinner. Try the Ben & Jerry's Chubby Hubby (really good):
Chubby Hubby is chunks of chocolate covered peanut butter-filled pretzels in a rich vanilla malt ice cream with deep ripples of fudge and peanut butter.
oooooh. chubby hubby is an awesome flavor! and i personally think that pretzels go really well with ice cream, it's that whole salty/sweet contrast (like chocolate covered pretzels...)
but beer and ice cream, they definitely don't go together!
:)

i think that margarita pie also sounds really good. there's actually a creole/cajun restaurant in my town that serves it and it's supposed to be one of their best selling desserts...

RE: Beer or Icecream Poll

Ha! I'd drink it for that name alone! :D I've happily had beer after running marathons, so I can imagine enjoying it after a swim meet, whether good, bad or indifferent.

RE: Beer or Icecream Poll

Not to turn this into a recipe swap forum, but check the Eagle Brand milk website and search the recipes for "margarita"

whut ? Chocolate ice cream is good with salty snacks like potato chips or french fries ... and I have a favorite recipe for margarita pie that has a crushed pretzel crust and a lime kind of ice cream filling.

Sounds good... I might have to rethink this... over magarita pie! :) Can you post the recipe--I'm ready to be converted.

But that conceded, does a recipe exist that successfully combines beer and ice cream? (Time to google....)

RE: Beer or Icecream Poll

ice cream, especially in some of its more exotic manifestations, doesn't go well with salted nuts or pretzels.

Of course, not necessarily together.

Also, doesn't the answer depend on what one does with the beer and ice cream? Beer doesn't work that well on birthday cake, and ice cream, especially in some of its more exotic manifestations, doesn't go well with salted nuts or pretzels.

Neither is recommended for shaving.

RE: Beer or Icecream Poll

We all know what GEO-Canuck will put as 'other'. 'wifeypoo' ;)

RE: Beer or Icecream Poll
