I get to work. Turn on the computer. And there is nothing going on on this forum. It's a slow show. Is everyone out holiday shopping? Can't someone start a new thread? I'll have to think of one..... Athough I'm generally against them, I'm going to use an emoticon now. :snore:

You have not been exactly an angel lately. But I guess your new avatar means you're trying. I took your suggestion (?) and changed mine. See how agreeable I am? I did like my Mermaid, it may be back, but I don't particularly like the "Little Mermaid." Glad you're so agreeable. I'm feeling like the grinch this morning. Maybe I need a grinch avatar... Yours is much better. I don't like redheads. Speak for yourself I am SO into Red-headed Mermaids...don't tell her but I bought Mrs Richjb some hair dye and a "tail-fin" for Christmas ;)

Muppet doesn't, why should you? :yawn: I need to shave for practice. I have "rug burns" (caused by stubble) on my shoulders from tucking my head on my breaststroke streamline... On the upside my crawl was feeling groovy, I think I was over rolling previously...but that may have been a good way to adopt a natural feeling roll.

Where is slow show? Maybe he's chatting with Ion on the USA Swimming forum. Or maybe he went to the raceclub.net forum with the real pros. I'm personally quite happy to be a USMS amateur. It's a "slow show" right now because Terry and Geochuck have apparently left us. I personally hope not; I don't want to be the only "crusader" here. I'm going to have to go mull over SPL vs. SR, I guess. Or go back to work to support my family and kids who will live with me until they're 30. I don't think Terry's chatting with Ion though. There's a bad thread with his name on it at that site -- Frank told us. It makes us look like angels. Why is there no angel smilie? And why do the smilies sometimes disappear when you want to use one?

Well, I was a competitor until a few days ago; now I am a Clydesdale and proud of it since I will need to be a Clydesdale for my marathon swim. Going for the finish only and the escort boat made it clear we need to do this during daylight hours (oops!). A 30K swim coming up for this pony. Do you think I need to shave down though? Lots of hair/fur on us. Donna

Now now Gull, the original poster asked about swimming, not noodling. I don't know of any confirmed noodling questions that have resulted from that cover. Wow, noodling. I was doing some xmas shopping on line at Keifer earlier today. There is actually a video for sale on noodler fitness. How to get the most out of your noodle or something to that effect.

From what I hear, the Moose is going to sell VO2MAX Shampoo at the World Championships. I sure miss the days when we could read about finishing a race before it started by using VO2MAX. You have to admit, those were some very funny posts. As for the guy in the red Speedo; Isn't he from Troy, NY? ;)

Let's not all hop on slow show, he has the right to his opinion. I have not been serious about my own swimming for years and when I was swimming I never took it too serious then. It was a good way for me to make money. I hated coaching good swimmers they took too much time the money was made with those wanting to learn to swim

While there are "gate keepers" on a lot of forums, there are many more who welcome new people and are accommodating in answering questions. I figure if this forum invites general questions about swimming, those posting such questions are within their rights. People are at all stages of learning, and often those who have most reason to be gate keepers are the ones most encouraging of newcomers. I think of Geochuck! I should say for the record that I sometimes put noodles into water: boiling water with a little salt and oil for ten to twelve minutes. The kind I see in swimming pools never seem to cook quite right and they taste rubbery. ;)

Gee I dont understand. USMS and this forum are for "swimmers" I for one really dont give a hoot for speed or times. I swim for fitness, but I realize that lots of swimmers like competition. This is a forum for all swimmers to discuss swimming . Its also a forum that welcomes all swimmers and there input on swimming regardless of their swimming ability. Oh well ! LETS SWIM!
