Easy to use, nice site overall.
I was concerned with the confirmation email I received.

You have entered the 400 Free, 800 Free, and/or the 400 IM. These are deck seeded events and you must report to the registration area before 1800 hours (6 pm PDT) and confirm that you will be swimming the event or you will not be included in the event. The seeding for these events will be posted by 2000 hours (8 pm PDT) in convenient locations.

Does this mean I need to check in thursday afternoon for the 800 free on friday. I live 2 1/2 hrs from Palo Alto and was planning on driving up EARLY on friday AM to be at Stanford. This would be very problomatic for me to phisicaly be in Palo Alto on Thursday as my vacation from work doesn't include Thursday. I understand the need to be deck seeded for this event, but to be there the day before? Can I check in through an email or a phone call or something other than phisically being at Stanford?
Am I missing something here?
Thanks

RE: Worlds Online Meet Entry

Jim Clemmons email has the direct link to the online meet registration page. I tried looking at the page in three different browsers and could not duplicate Julies problem.

We are going to take everyone photo at Stanford so you do not have to send a photo graph, we will also ask to see some government issued ID (eg passport or drivers license). For USMS members, we check your membership number against the national data base.

For non-United States federations, we will send a list of that federations members to the federation. If there is a problem we will let people know about it and ask to see a copy of their federations card.

We changed the procedures to make them easier for the athlete and we can still get the job done.

I hope this helps.

I'm assuming even if entering online we're still required to send in our photos, proof of age, and copy of USMS card. Is this correct Michael? This isn't made real clear in the online process (unless I missed it somewhere) though it is noted in the "Entry Procedures" page of the meet booklet.

EDIT: OK, answering my own question here. Just saw this on the website:

"We have made a couple of changes in the registration process, you do NOT have to send two photos with your registration, if you a USMS member, your membership will be checked when you register. When you go to accredition, you must bring a government issued ID (eg California Drivers license), your picture will then be taken and your meet ID will be generated."

In other words it sounds like (for USMS swimmers, anyway) we don't need to send anything additional in. Cool!

RE: Worlds Online Meet Entry

Good grief. It's gone again.

I clicked on the online entry link on the right. Then closed that window and hit refresh on the home page a while later, and saw the link disappear and the home page text change.

Weird.

RE: Worlds Online Meet Entry

i rebooted my computer and now the link is there again (the whole home page has changed).

Very strange.

RE: Worlds Online Meet Entry

Thanks for the link.

I entered this morning and the link was there (I was at work). Mike saw it there yesterday and started his entry, but the link wasn't there when he went back to finish it this afternoon.

Now it doesn't show up on either of our computers.

Anyone know where it went? I just sent out an email to 4000 people telling them it exists, I'm waiting for the complaints...the first one came from my husband.

I entered on-line today. Do you think I’ve made it into the top 1000? The entry process was quite painless. Congratulations on getting the application up and running!
