In White Mtns area, Lake Chocorua (sp?) was pretty nice. White Lake OK outside of normal hours. Echo Lake (western one) seemed popular with tri types, also outside normal hours.

Some of the lakes in the "Lakes Region" seemed to have small "residents only" beaches but if you would come by bike, they'd be OK. Most of them would be OK to swim from but in many areas you'd be at some risk from motorboats.

Hope this helps.

RE: open water swims southern/central NH?

thanks, i'll check that out :)

RE: open water swims southern/central NH?

Check out the New England Masters website, they have a discussion forum like this one and they have a topic listed as Pools and Ponds. Should be helpful.
