However, there seems to be not much research done on the correlation between swimming and cancer.

Anyone has any thoughts about it?

RE: prolonged exposure to chlorine and cancer

Thanks for the feedback. In all seriousness, life is full of risks. Tragically, a cyclist was mowed down outside my apartment complex this AM; I'm fairly sure that I'm developing arthritis in my hips from running, and there's a chance that I could get killed driving to practice. You get the idea.

I'm thinking of going back to swimming, but this whole cancer thing has freaked me out. :(

Any doctors in the house?

Caution: No one gets out of this alive. If you swim outdoors and not in the pre-dawn or post-dusk hours, use a waterproof SPF 30+ sunscreen or wear a UV rated rash-guard as the sun is a much more dangerous object than chlorine. If you're worried about chlorine exposure don't swim . . . if you look for trouble, you can always find it.

go have a beer and watch the rose bowl
