You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous being: Never get involved in a land war in Asia. Only slightly less well know is this: Never go in against a when death is on the line! Ha ha ha!

Why does the word "Inconceivable" keep popping into my head now?.....funny thing though about that word.....how can you actually apply that word to any particular thing or idea....as soon as the word is used to describe anything at all, doesn't it then contradict itself by its very definition?

It's not like you're wilderness camping and it's life or death

here's a few items many people bring some are essential and some are nice to have, it all depends on if there's room and spare time,

copy of your meet entry submission form
meet info,
heat sheet
directions to the pool and hotel

2 warm up suits

1 or 2 racing suits

2 pairs of googles

2 caps

deck clothes wear around the pool, sweats t shirt

street clothes wear when I leave the pool

2 towels

stop watch

doc bag which contains (shampoo, conditioner, razor, tooth brush, tooth paste, deodorant and what ever else you need)

chair

pillow and blanket

book

chess set

Money

ipod / walkman

video camera

cell phone

there's probably more

Ande

I'm trying to construct a "swim meet checklist" that I can keep in my swim bag. What do YOU think is essential to take to a swim meet?

Here's what I have so far:

Swimsuit(s)
T-shirt
Shorts
Long-sleeved pullover
Long sweatpants
Sandals or other deck shoes
Swimmer's chamois
Towel(s)
Goggles (at least 1 spare pair)
Swim cap(s)
Legal drugs (ibuprofen, etc.)
Seat cushion
Small hair dryer (in winter), with long extension cord
Padlock
Paper & pen or pencil
Colored highlighter pens (invaluable for highlighting names in big heat sheets)
USMS card (don't leave home without it!)
Water bottle
Food (specifics vary depending on the time of day and length of meet)
