This is going to sound totally cheesy, but oh well ... Jenny Thompson is a hero of mine. I have so much respect for her. It's one thing to go to college and train and try to make an Olympic team. It's another thing all together to go to medical school and make your FOURTH Olympic team in multiple events. I would support her in trying for a fifth team. She is amazing, and a wonderful amabassador for the sport. If the up and commers can't beat her (which they didn't at trials or the Olympics) then that'll make them work that much harder to get that much better in the future. Edited to add, yes Kara Lynn Joyce did beat her, but she won her spot, and therefore beat many up and commers that just couldn't quite catch her ...

Ande: The picture of Amanda Beard at that site doesn't look too flattering. Is it just me or does it look like she's packing extra equipment?

Yeah, but Mintenko is swimming at Santa Clara ... I'll bet she's at least there ... I love her! I hope Vendt isn't done either he's awesome!

I don't think it's been updated recently ... Jenny Thompson has retired and they don't list that, as well as Krayzelburg ... I THINK Malchow might be done he was debating and then had surgery and hasn't been training ...

Lindsay Benko just got married to Mike Mintenko so I think that is why she skipped World trials. Erik better not retire. I would be heartbroken. :(

Jenny Thompson did retire and I was very sad to see her do so. She is an incredible swimmer and I don't care how old she is. It's nice to see someone excell no matter what age they are. I was lucky enough to be in Indy to see her last races. I actually got a little choked up when she was on the medal stand for the last time. She will be missed.

Wouldn't you be excited if you were getting paid that much?

I thought Eric Vendt was going into the Navy SEALS after swimming at the Olympics last summer. Was that some sort of twisted dream I had or does anyone know?
