I think this is a fantastic idea. A USMS app would be easily accessible and the menu could include workouts, videos, ask a swimmer bot questions 😉. I love it! Hire a tech iintern , they will likely jump on developing an app if cost to developing is an issue. Ai is upon us and we need to move away from logging onto the website just to get information that can be streamlined with a useful app.

CTRZ7 , thanks for the feedback. We are always looking for things to make the membership for valuable.
Some of what you have listed is available on our site (pool finder, forums, geo-targeted events calendar - depending on your browser settings, integration with swim.com). For the swimming footage, we partner with a company called OnForm and use that for our Video Stroke Analysis product.

It’ll be interesting to see what the organization’s response is (if there is a response). I guess it’d make sense to have one. Or, at least it wouldn’t hurt. I see that other sports have them — USATF (track & field), USAT (triathlon), USA Cycling, etc. And, there is one for USA Swimming. It’s just that all those other sports seem to be all-inclusive in that the “Masters” level seems to be included as part of the main body, and not a separate entity or association like that between USA Swimming, and US Masters Swimming. In a “Devil’s advocate” sense, most of the things from your list of tools for an app are available from the pulldown menu. So, if you have the USMS website bookmarked on your web browser, you have access to them. But, you’d think that the USMS organization would want to keep members engaged on THEIR own website/app, and not somewhere else. But, some of the things on your list just don’t seem to even be a ‘blip’ on their radar. — Dan
