Have you tried contacting Chris McGiffin the NJ LMSC chair? He should be able to get you in touch with the someone in the Rockaway area.

RE: Swimming in/near Rockaway, NJ

If you have a YMCA membership, your best choice is probably Lakeland Hills YMCA in Mountain Lakes. You can visit their website at:

I was hoping for some local insight on this one. Also... I do not have a YMCA membership though it looks like I wish I had, seeing all of the YMCA pools out there.

Anyone -

I am heading on a travel trip to Rockaway, New Jersey and I would love to see if there is some way I can get a couple of workouts in while I am there and enjoy every bit of low altitude training I can get. Does anyone know of a place to go for either morning or evening workouts that may be fairly close to, or in Rockaway??

Thanks in advance!

Check gsmswim.org for places to swim and then, check mapquest to see if the location is near Rockaway. There are plenty of places from what I hear when I do Jersey meets.
