Setting realistic goals

I am hoping to drop some time this summer by joining a summer swim program, which by the way...if anyone knows of good programs I'm still looking :) , but hopefully in Texas. Overall I need my times to go down about 30 to 40 seconds but I realize that is not going to happen in one summer. How much is a realistic goal to drop in one summer? I was hoping that maybe 10 to 20 seconds would be nice, or is that too much? Thanx a bunch!!! ~Kyra

Hmm ... Karen, Kyra, and Keather all in the same place ... Walnut Creek won't know what hit them ... ;) "I don't think anything is impossible." Michael Phelps Kyra, your goals are great! Just don't be disappointed if you don't hit them this summer. Keep them out there as what you are striving for. I have complete faith that you will them one day. Some might come faster than others. You'll hit peaks and plateau's. Just keep your same passion and intensity and you'll do well!

My times have been dropping steadily since I started back in August. I'm hoping that I don't it a plateau this summer. I realize that my goals are a stretch, but I'm going to do my best. And if I don't make it this year, there's always next year. I'm only a sophomore so I've got time.

Exactly! Just don't be disappointed (or at least too disappointed and frustrated) if you don't hit them this summer. You can do whatever you set your mind to. "Obsessed is just a word the lazy use to describe the dedicated." "When everything seems like an uphill struggle just think of the view from the top." "I knew where I wanted to go, what kind of player I wanted to become and I focused on getting there." Michael Jordan "Only those that risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go."
