Can anyone suggest any products?

I don't know if that's true or not. It has something to do with the creation of IgE or something. After I swim I use shampoo.

RE: itching

It might be a mild reaction to chlortine with dried out skin. In my case, if I don;t shhower with a oisturizing soap, and use a good moisturizer, I'll be itching all day.
For me, Caress soap and NIVEA moisturizing creme do the trick.

The first time I went to a swim meet out of town, and stayed at the hotel, and used hotel soap. ouch ouch ouch itch itch itch, even with the moisturizer.
Now I'm kind of anal about having the right soap. Just works for my skin.

RE: itching

Well, I never doubted it was chlorine, I mean, it's got the "magic smell".

RE: itching

Are you sure it's chlorine and not bromine? That sounds more typical of a bromine reaction.

RE: itching

I would suggest not using soap after swimming. The chlorine really dries your skin out and taking a soap shower after swimming makes it worse.

Using some good lotion after swimming is probably your best best.

RE: itching

We have found the Aveeno products are the best, sooth the itching right away and not too greasy, a little expensive but worth it.
