Anyway - if you&#39;re registered with USMS can you compete in USS meets or do you also need to register with USS?

Thanks!

Just that the kids on the local club team also want me to swim against them as well.

I won&#39;t be able to make the meet in St. Louis (money &amp; time conficts).

As for USS meets being fun, yeah some can be - sometimes too much fun. Then your club team gets banned state wide from Holiday Inns - oops  For some odd reason they didn&#39;t like the few thousand dollars worth of water damage we did.<div style="clear:both;"></div>

RE: Competing in USS meets

DocWhoRocks

Wyoming is in the Breadbasket Zone of USMS - there should be masters swimming competitions in nearby Colorado and we&#39;d encourage you to attend our Zone competition in the Spring in St Louis (which I realize is on the east edge of the zone). We have several mini-meet in Kansas City area, but have to travel to find 2-3 day championship meets.

Again, swimming with USS is a great start - is fun to compete against other masters swimmers. I combine swimming with my vacations and often swim in California, Florida, or while visiting family in Indiana - or bigger trips to Australia, Hawaii or Italy.

Good Luck with your swimming - USS meets can be great fun - and hope to see you around the Zone.

USA swimming has a website which can help you determine the registrar for your USS LSC (local swim committee) - many of the LSC are the same as USMS&#39;s LMSCs geographically.

USS meets have slightly different rules, so be sure to check the USMS rule book in the appendices to view the rule differences (this is on-line on the usms.org website).

USS meets are very interesting - especially when younger swimmers 9-10-11 year olds compete in a few open events.

Good luck with USS swimming - the USA swimming season is underway, so a registration now is good for Sept 2004- Dec 2005.

That&#39;s what I thought.

I used to swim USS. Just going back because I train with a USS team (no masters team here) and the kids on the team want me to swim agaisnt them in some meets. So after about a year of them asking me to swim in some of their meets I finally caved and said I would.<div style="clear:both;"></div>
