It looks like we should see a good race tonight in the women's 100 meter ***. Here are the top two seeds from this morning:

1 QUANN, MEGAN 20 TITANS

RE: Should be a good race tonight!

I believe her winning time was 1:05.7 was here dream time, not the time she actually did. She was still able to win, but not in a 1:05.7

A couple of women have that time in them.

RE: Should be a good race tonight!

Amanda seems to be focusing on the 200 IM this year as well as the breaststroke events. The 200 IM is scheduled for tomorrow, and the psych sheet shows her entered.

RE: Should be a good race tonight!

Megan's 1:07 is from Sydney in 2000 - see the top times lists at:

Megan swims a lot of meets in Federal Way and, in my observation, scratches finals much more often than she swims them. Don't know why, but it's always disappointing to her fans.:)

RE: Should be a good race tonight!

Megan used to dream about winning the Olympics, I believe her winning time was 1:05.7.

I wonder why she scratched? Amanda will race any one any where at any time. She is great.

RE: Should be a good race tonight!

What a gyp! That would have been a great race.

I noticed Amanda also swam the anchor leg in the 800 free relay.

RE: Should be a good race tonight!

"Back to 1:05" would be pretty great for Megan; her AR is 1:07:05. Alas, she scratched again tonight, so it was Amanda in 1st with a 1:08.65 - not bad since she's no doubt in heavy training.
Dennis Baker, more of a 200 swimmner, could "only" manage 15th in the 100 with a 58.6. He's an inspiration to all of us in Oregon.

RE: Should be a good race tonight!

Did you look at the 200 Fly results:

She has changed the way she swims, took guts for a Gold Medal winner to switch.
I would love to see her get back to the 1:05 level!!

RE: Should be a good race tonight!

Megan also qualified first on Thursday in the 200 ***, but scratched finals (Amanda didn't swim the 200 ***). He did a summer time trial at 2:05+. He works very hard with his masters team and the high school team and the young kids he coaches also.
He does this and also swims 6 days a wk trying to make the cuts.
Now that's dedication.

RE: Should be a good race tonight!

Yes, that guy's awesome! It's gotta feel strange to be up on the blocks with a bunch of teenagers.
