I believe her winning time was 1:05.7 was here dream time, not the time she actually did. She was still able to win, but not in a 1:05.7 A couple of women have that time in them.

Amanda seems to be focusing on the 200 IM this year as well as the breaststroke events. The 200 IM is scheduled for tomorrow, and the psych sheet shows her entered.

Megan's 1:07 is from Sydney in 2000 - see the top times lists at: www.usa-swimming.org/.../womens_event_history.pdf Megan swims a lot of meets in Federal Way and, in my observation, scratches finals much more often than she swims them. Don't know why, but it's always disappointing to her fans.:)

Megan used to dream about winning the Olympics, I believe her winning time was 1:05.7. I wonder why she scratched? Amanda will race any one any where at any time. She is great.

"Back to 1:05" would be pretty great for Megan; her AR is 1:07:05. Alas, she scratched again tonight, so it was Amanda in 1st with a 1:08.65 - not bad since she's no doubt in heavy training. Dennis Baker, more of a 200 swimmner, could "only" manage 15th in the 100 with a 58.6. He's an inspiration to all of us in Oregon.

Did you look at the 200 Fly results: 2 BAKER, DENNIS 42 DDSC-OR 2:06.94 2:06.33 OPEN Not bad for a 42 year old!!!!

I hope Megan wins just for style points! She has changed the way she swims, took guts for a Gold Medal winner to switch. I would love to see her get back to the 1:05 level!!

Megan also qualified first on Thursday in the 200 ***, but scratched finals (Amanda didn't swim the 200 ***). Amanda won the 200 free on Friday in 2:02+. Here's hoping they both swim tonight.

We are very proud of our Coach Bake and hope he can drop that extra 3 seconds to make the Olympic trials. He did a summer time trial at 2:05+. He works very hard with his masters team and the high school team and the young kids he coaches also. He does this and also swims 6 days a wk trying to make the cuts. Now that's dedication.
