I was in a locker room changing into my suit, but I was nervous because I was afraid I wasn&#39;t ready. After I had the same dream a couple of times (same locker room - one I&#39;d never actually been in in real life), I decided it was something I was supposed to do.

One night I went running full sprint down the hall and into the closed door leading to the garage. Maybe I was late for swimming?! My family came running and in the morning I didn&#39;t remember a thing.
I do remember one night though waking myself out of a dream where I was swimming. When I woke myself up I was going back and forth from my window sill to the dresser in my room, across my bed. I was actually doing turns!
And whenever I went to &quot;away&quot; meets with my Mom we&#39;d share a bed. In the morning she would tell me that I was swimming in my sleep. I didn&#39;t believe it at first, then I saw the bruises on her legs where I had been &quot;kicking&quot;.

most of them fantasies, about swimming in the olympics, which will never happen, but one can dream can&#39;t they!? haha

Although sometimes I&#39;ll have a dream about swimming in a meet and getting beat by one of the worst teams in our district.

Those are horrible, and the really bad ones are the ones where I&#39;m swimming and I can&#39;t seem to move, like I&#39;m kicking and stroking but I&#39;m not getting anywhere, it&#39;s really horrible.

And i wake up doing the kicking motion for the *** stroke sometimes, heeheehee.

I guess these ones have little to do with swimming, really. The ones that have to do with swimming, I suspect, are the ones where I am managing to gracefully muscle my way through the air!

It was very crowded; and there was only one event - the 1,650 (funny thing is that I was preparing to swim the actual event in a few days!). Anyway, instead of the heats being slow to fast, they were fast to slow. One guy in particular was so fast, that he had the first heat to himself. After his swim (oh yeah - people were warming up in the same pool but in different lanes even while this guy was competing), he got out and started to look at his time and splits on a tiny monitor screen that looked something like a digital alarm clock. I asked him why he was being so secretive about it, and his reply was, &quot;I don&#39;t want anyone to know what my time is because the swimming federation is very intolerant of gays, and because there is so much discrimination and gay bashing, everyone has to keep their swim time a secret.&quot;<div style="clear:both;"></div>

RE: Dreams about swimming ?

yes, the dream of breathing underwater is very peacful and beautiful. Sometimes I&#39;m in a crystal clear pool swimming underwater, sometimes in the ocean, reef diving, usually alone, and there is a sense of well being and filled with spirtual happiness. But to achieve this (in my dream) I have to breathe in a very specific way. I never dream of breathing or talking underwater--but the water is always something that I&#39;m looking to get in, or am in. I&#39;ve been on inner tubes, swimming in the water, or in boats. Alot of times this water is turbulent in some way--either by wakey water, or dirtiness/murkeyness. It&#39;s really strange.

My mother tells me that water symbolizes life--who knows.

Really though, I am afraid of murkey water and ocean water. Maybe it&#39;s the fears I have in life being represented by water. I&#39;m stressed out alot because I started up a business 13 months ago--money is always on my mind, or the fear of lack thereof.<div style="clear:both;"></div>

RE: Dreams about swimming ?

Yes, I&#39;ve been doing yoga and meditating since my hippie days, never quit (lol saw it as a sell out)

I couldn&#39;t make the intervals no matter what. It was not a relaxing dream. HMMMM?? I wonder what the hidden meaning is in that one. I&#39;ve also dreamed many times of swimming and woke myself up doing an actual kick! I&#39;ve done that for years. Another thing I dream about alot is rowing. In college I was a rower, and I quit my third year. I&#39;ve never gotten over &quot;quitting&quot;, as I have never quit anything...I still dream that I&#39;m on the team, or that I&#39;m rowing in a swimming pool, or in Baltimore. And Baltimore is surrounded by big open water and bridges.

Ok, I swear I&#39;m not going to go on and on. but for the person what had the gay bashing dream, it might be a clue that you suspect some successful person might be gay and they&#39;re afraid of being ridculed, so they hide it.

I promise I&#39;m done.

I&#39;ve had dreams about drowning, however.

Sometimes I dream about running -- freely, effortlessly and without pain -- something that I can no longer do in real life (bad knees, bad foot, bad hip).

Most of the dreams I remember have to do with being on a campus-like setting. Not surprising, since I spent 32 years of my life in school, as either a student or a faculty member. Sometimes I&#39;ll dream I have a calculus test to take, then suddenly remember that I taught the subject for twelve years.

On rare occasions I dream that I can fly through the air by flapping my arms and thinking light thoughts.
