Any recommendations on how to clean them, either a special product or just a home remedy, without scratching them? They have lots of life still in them

RE: Cleaning Swim Goggles

I second the use of Johnson's, only I apply a dab to each goggle then rinse before a workout or race - keeps the goggles nice, clear, and no fog! Best of all - no more partially filling my goggles with water to keep them clear.

If you do this, make sure you rinse thoroughly or that little bit of sting that you sense is a warning that there still is some shampoo derivative in there. Discovered that one the hard way...

RE: Cleaning Swim Goggles

Try johnson's no tears baby shampoo. Really gets the gooles clean and prevents fogging. I use it after each swim.:)

RE: Cleaning Swim Goggles

Periodically I wash my goggles and the lens with phisoderm cleaner. It is designed to eliminate oil (at least on faces) so gets all the gunk off the lens from your eyelashes. I also wash the pads (I wear barracudas) and rinse well. Since it is a liquid and designed for facial use it will not scratch the lens.

I've found having a clean lens improves the underwater vision and they don't seem to fog as much.

RE: Cleaning Swim Goggles

I use an eyeglass cleaning solution called VisaClear (or maybe Visaclean -- I don't have it handy) that comes in a small aerosol spray can. It cleans out all the pool gunk and also defogs for a while. I have a pair of prescription goggles that have stayed transparent well over a year. :)
