Hi Bob, I have two possilbe solutions for you. #1.) At our YMCA (M.E. Lyons, Cincinnati, OH) we DOME our outdoor pool at the end of summer to create an on-site year round training facility. I am not sure who the builder is, but I do know that the company that we buy the panels from is located in California. The skeleton stays up, just the inner & outer panels are removed. The number to the YMCA is 513-474-1400. Ask to speak with Tina Smith, the aquatic director. She can share more information with you. #2.) In Louisville, KY at the Lakeside Swim Club, the DOME thier pool too. However it is totally unqiue. It is free standingand there are no support beams. The only thing really keeping it up is air. You could call the club and ask Mary Grave or Bill Tingley who they bought that particular design from. This is would be more cost effective for what you have. Good luck! As an alternative to a building, you can use a gas heater (electric heaters won't generate enough heat in the colder months) and cover the pool with thermal blankets (not solar covers) which you can store on a reel. Supposedly this cuts heating costs by as much as 50-70%. I've also seen pools covered with a large "bubble" that can be removed in the summer. What times are you open for lap swimming?
