We've been involved in US Swimming for awhile and are familiar wth the time standards used by our childrens' club (B A AA, etc), but I can't seem to find the equivalent for Masters swimming. Maybe this is a "stupid

RE: Time Standards?

There's nothing in Masters that corresponds to the B, A, AA etc. classifications in age group swimming. Other than the limited exception of Nationals (where qualifying times must be met to swim more than three events), any swimmer can swim in any meet. All swimmers are seeded in heats, usually slow to fast, based on their submitted entry times.

RE: Time Standards?

We don't really have time standards other than top 10 times and records. Both of which can be found on the usms or your lmsc site.

RE: Time Standards?

Time standards are only in place for Nationals. You can swim 3 events without meeting standards and any other events you enter must meet a standard which is based on your age and sex, and is determined by a committee which uses the top times from the previous year's corresponding Nationals. You can see what the standards were for last year's SC Nationals were (or any other National Meet) by going to "Nationals" in this site.
