Can someone help me understand the relationship between USMS and Swim.com, Swimoutlet.com, and Spiraledge? With the transition of the workouts, FLOG, Virtual Championships, etc., there is a concern about the privacy of the information being shared as well as the security. As a swimmer, I have the ability to "opt out" of Swim.com, but the CLUB I own still exists on their platform. Without my permission, I'm not sure that I am comfortable with that. Here was the press release from 2019: "As part of the partnership, Swim.com has added more than 1,300 USMS clubs to its platform, allowing non-USMS members to discover USMS clubs they may be interested in joining, and giving USMS members the ability to connect and compete with each other." Does anyone have any extra insight on this arrangement, and is there a USMS Committee that would have an understanding and oversight?

Thanks Allen. Thatâ€™s why I had problems...I donâ€™t have a smartphone! I had a 10 year old flip phone that I lost in Albuquerque at the Senior games...over a year ago. Never replaced it and donâ€™t really need it (except of course to get these results) but I will live without it.

Question...how do I see results if I did not swim in the Virtual Championships? If you have swim.com on your phone(having it on your computer is useless) go to the virtual meet on the USMS front page Scroll down to events Click an event Go to filter to choose age and gender Now you can see results for that event You are now in the swim.com app.To get another event you must go back to the USMS site Simple huh

To see results it seems I have to go event by event and filter each by age and gender. Is there any place results are posted in a user friendly format?

You all are soooo negative. Why not look at the bright side? Now no one has to take PEDs to post good times. Virtual swimming is healthier! You have a good point. Also, if had to guess, most of the cheating is likely out of ignorance and not intentional (which I still find a bit depressing).

It's safe to say that I will check whatever events for which you submit times, and then submit a time that is either .01, or in the likely event they only record times to the second, 1.0 faster than you. I am sorry you can't beat me. I know. Why do you mock my pain? Just so you know, I'm feeling a 1:54 200 fly Aug 31st very close to the midnight deadline...:)

As I said previously, at least a dozen inaccuracies. 50 ***, 50 back, 100 back, 50 fly as mentioned, open water 1 mile with multiple 19-21 min times that likely didn't happen, OW 2 mile-37 minutes, OW 5k-under an hour. Some other suspect times but not obvious enough to call out. I did a 1:56 "10k" race a few weeks ago but at least I wasn't dim enough to enter it as a legit time...and USMS, gave an extra week to accumulate more garbage times...yay! Hopefully, virtual swimming is not the future of USMS as it's increasing my bp and making my adrenals swell up. Some of these results seem more than surprising. The number one time over all in the 50 BR is a woman at 23. Her previous best USMS time was 32. Her time is listed as from an Apple Watch. How accurate are those type of watch for a 50 yd time? I question the woman entered with :21/:51 backstroke times as well!

Maybe there's a concern about leaving a gender out...Oregon has how many now? I do know several people who identify as NB, so yes. The meet has been extended to 8/31 and I was already going to the pool today, so I swam the 50 BR for the meet since I was least happy with my prior 50 swim. 34 sec without a block start, which I was happy with.(Second time in a pool since March)

Probably won't happen as there is at least a dozen incorrect results in top ten of multiple events I can spot. I guess the lesson for all of us is not to take this too seriously. haha, noticed the guy who logged a 1:59 200 FR, and then logged a 1:55 200 FL...

Times to the second, by the way, not to the .01 sec. The placings are listed by time, not by gender and age, just by time. Yes, it's kind of crazy entering 50's to a second without tenths at a minimum. You can actually filter the event results by age group but not gender. The saga continues. My wife swam the 3 backstrokes. She is a USMS member. She opened a swim.com app. She linked swim.com with My USMS. Swim.com continues to say, basically,you must be a member of USMS to enter, join USMS to continue. Is her only choice to join USMS twice? I will say that I asked a support question of swim.com earlier and they answered promptly. I think swim.com could probably be a very useful app for an open water swimmer. I just don't see how it is an improvement for a pool swimmer over a pace clock, printed out workout, and the old Go the Distance. It really seems an unnecessary complication for this meet as all that was really need was a stopwatch and an entry form. As a bigger issue, I know that competition pool swimmers are not most of the body of USMS, but we are the heart and generally the most involved group. I put up with FINA, even though the are incredible corrupt, because they are the only game in town, but I have always been,heretofore, proud of USMS. This covid situation is awful, having a few bright spots help make things more bearable. Having support of a like minded community helps. An active forum, like we had not that long ago, could be that.
