I'm not sure if this is technically allowed but if the club has an age group program I know some have let swimmers registered as age group swimmers train with their masters club.

While it is true you must be 18 to join, I'd still check with the group at the school. They may allow non-masters swimmers to workout with them (they may not due to insurance reasons too). If they do, you can get your workouts in and then join masters as soon as you turn 18. You are our next generation and we need youth within our ranks. Just keep swimming.

Check if the university has a club team. Our local university has it listed under recreation.

There is no club team - just the one for athletes and the Masters team, which meets at the university.

Can I join a Masters team at 17.5, or do I have to wait until I'm 18?You must be 18 to join USMS.
