I'm not new to swimming, but just got back into it for exercise/fitness purposes. My coach recommended bilateral laps, which I have never done before. I decided to give it a try.

I found it very challenging, especially the lack of oxygen

RE: [OMG] Gassing at 50% 1 week later? Good for both of you to challenge yourselves to learn new things.
Yes, to the bi but maybe when you are "gassed" do a few extra breaths on the easy side to recover.

RE: [OMG] Gassing at 50% 1 week later? Twice to the same side, then three strokes and breathe twice on the other side. Good luck!

RE: [OMG] Gassing at 50% 1 week later? If you did this four days in a row, I can see where you'd get gassed. Give yourself a day off, maybe walk instead of swim, then hop back in. Your body will tell you when it's time for a day off. Stick with it. It'll get easier. Maybe each week add one more 25 to your total. :)

RE: [OMG] Gassing at 50% 1 week later? Just normal process. Keep at it.
