I did learn, even before the recent swimmer magazine article, that polyester practice suits hold up longer. Make sure to select the proper size while choosing your swimsuit, which will be comfortable for you while swimming. One of my friends have purchased blue swimmers suit for her competition and also told me to buy from this source, which has a wide range of swimming suits for women.

RE: How tight should a new ladies practice suit be?

I like them tight enough that I don't feel a lot of drag in practice. Sometimes endurance suits with wide straps can be really tight at first (maybe those with a longer torso feel it more). If you have a suit with thinner straps that has stretched out you can always tie a small knot in the straps to make them tighter.

Definitely get it tight to start as you now know they will loosen up. For a meet I recommend saving some newer suits or have meet only suits.

RE: How tight should a new ladies practice suit be?

I like them tight enough that I don't feel a lot of drag in practice.
