When I started swimming again I knew this old bod wasn't ready for a brief so I started wearing jammers. No matter what brand I buy they only seem to last a month and then start to stretch

RE: Suits that hold up?

I have tracked the miles in my FLOG for every suit I have worn since joining USMS seven years ago. Speedo Endurance+ and Tyr Durafast tie (+/- a few miles) for the longest lasting suits, and Agon was the worst. For the price (if you get them on sale at http://www.swimoutlet.com) Sporti's aren't bad. They don't last as long, but they're a lot cheaper, too.

RE: Suits that hold up?

I've had good luck with the Speedo Endurance+ polyester jammers.

Concur. I have one that I've been using for well over a year. Actually I just ordered two more (different color). Not because the one I was using wore out, but just so that I could rotate between them, and have an extra on hand in the event they get discontinued.

The seams give out before the fabric. I got the Sporti poly suit once. I didn't like how it fit, so I keep it for a backup suit. I can't kill it. I don't rinse it, I wring it out, I do everything wrong with it and it has lasted about 5 years, using it a couple of months per year.

RE: Suits that hold up?

I'm very partial to Tyr Durafast. Not only do they last, but for me the fit is the best of the bunch. I have three suits that I rotate for practice and all have held up well over the past year. I always make a point to rinse them out with fresh water, either in the locker room shower or in the sink once I get home. The oldest one is getting a bit baggy, but part of that is due to my losing weight - I just consider it to be more of a drag suit now.

RE: Suits that hold up?

Really? My experience with the 100% nylon suits was that they faded almost immediately and disintegrated pretty quickly thereafter. The new polyester suits last much, much longer. They're great.

RE: Suits that hold up?

Find a suit you like in poly - it will last very long.
