A brace seems as if it would help in holding weakened parts.
Dry land , without that wrist might be a good idea for a while. Good luck.

Good advice, Orca!

RE: Injury... hoping it doesn't mess up my swimming

I noticed that it helped to put on an arm warmer wet w/ cold water. I don't wear arm warmers to run, so I'm glad I found a use for one of a pair I received some time ago as an award. :)

RE: Injury... hoping it doesn't mess up my swimming

Soak your wrist in icewater, a minute or so at a time, a dozen times a day, while gradually moving your hand in different positions.

Dry and keep comfortable at room temperature in between.

Don't use heat as that weakens the tissues.

RE: Injury... hoping it doesn't mess up my swimming

Don't over do it and cause long term injury to the wrist! Thanks for this. Just did the cold water treatment before leaving for. ...you guessed it. ... swim practice! But it remains to be seen how much I'll be able to do. Is it normal to feel sluggish? I just hurt wrist, not my whole body! The Dr prescribed an x-ray and gave me a tetanus shot just to be safe. I worry about missing training. But then too I have to think of the long term. Meanwhile it does me good to see my swim buds!

I got a waterproof wrist brace and swam with it for about a month and was OK after that. This was with a sprain, if you have something else that may not work.
