In June of 1992, I took a SW road/train trip. The last leg was by Amtrak from Flagstaff to Albuquerque. In one of those 2 locations (My tentative guess

RE: Trying to locate NM/AZ hotel pool visited in 1992

VintageDirt, I'll take a closer look at the Hyatt and the Double Tree using google satellite...perhaps one of them was smaller back then. It could also have been one of the 3 you mention on Central Ave. I wasn't too picky about hotels back then as I was a grad student on a really tight budget, but I do remember the pool was just great. Thanks for the suggestions - I'll look into them!

RE: Trying to locate NM/AZ hotel pool visited in 1992

Have you tried doing looking at google satellite images. Maybe start at the Amtrak station at each of those two towns and scour the images. Maybe you'll find it? It'd be tedious, but fun in an odd way.

No, I tried locating hotels on google maps and then looking up the websites of each hotel, but I'll try your idea -thanks!

RE: Trying to locate NM/AZ hotel pool visited in 1992

I would have said it had to be either the Hyatt Regency or the Double Tree Hilton in Albuquerque. But not if it was only 2-3 stories with a southwest look. That makes it sound like one of the motels along Central Ave. Of those, Crossroads, Econo Lodge and Knight’s Inn have rectangular pools. They may have been OK in 1992 but I would not recommend staying at one of these motels now. There are also several motels in the “Old Town” area but they are farther from the Amtrak station. Don’t know much about Flagstaff.

Good luck

RE: Trying to locate NM/AZ hotel pool visited in 1992

Have you tried doing looking at google satellite images.
