Does that mean your legs should always remain straight? In other words, should the legs not also move from side to side with the rest of the body?:dunno:

RE: Rotate entire body?

Well orca, I seem to have achieved the ability to rotate everything but the legs. Maybe that's why I feel like it's such a struggle. Seems to be my least comfortable stroke. It sounds like I have to focus on more whole body rotation.

RE: Rotate entire body?

How many kicks in two arm pulls a right & a left? 2- 4 - 6 - 8 ?

RE: Rotate entire body?

Thanks, Steve and Dan. This gives me maximum efficiency for the duration of the whole stroke, important for 3km and upwards races.

However as I race shorter and shorter distances I find I roll less and less with my legs as I my kick becomes stronger and stronger. So 100m and 50m races almost zero lower leg rotation with turbo kick from my 61yo legs :)

RE: Rotate entire body?

The rotation starts from the end of one hand pull thru the shoulders ,core, hips to the legs.
I don't think you can NOT rotate the legs when doing this. My legs twist like the twisty on a bread bag.Consequently I don’t have much of a kick.
