Elaine, I think my shoulder strain was caused by improper stroke technique. Now, to try and protect it, I think it's actually helping to improve my strokes! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Hi Karl. Yes, I'm very excited about the state games of America next summer. They are taking the place of our annual state games, which our kids swam in last year. It'll probably be my first LCM opportunity. My husband is going to start swimming competitively too, so it'll be a family affair! We have plans to compete in the open water events as well. 'glad your first meet was a positive experience. I see you are in Nebraska. Here is an opportunity that may interest you. Next summer the "State Games of America" will be held in Nebraska. http://www.sga2015.com/ There is a masters swimming meet as part of this event. I attended the 2013 event in Pennsylvania and it was a lot of fun. There were competitors of various abilities and levels of experience, from first-ever meet swimmers to seasoned competitors. It isn't sanctioned by USMS so times don't count for records or Top Ten, but if those things don't matter to you, you might want to consider it. For out-of-state residents there is a qualification procedure but in-state residents can just enter.
