Don Walker has a swim program close to downtown but it is in a rougher part of town. I have contacted Don Walker. Clearly wookiee's aren't scared of a little rough and tumble.

San Antonio is a huge city. Where are you going to stay? Will you have a car? Most conferences are near the riverwalk / downtown. My first suggestion is swim in the hotel pool. Incarnate Word University is pretty close Don Walker has a swim program close to downtown but it is in a rougher part of town.

Texas Age Groups were in San Antonio this spring and masters nationals are in San Antonio next year at the new pool at Northside Swim Center 8400 N Loop 1604 W San Antonio, TX 78249 USA i don't know where in the city it is but the pictures look awesome.

Wookiee, You have enough fur that swimming in the Riverwalk should be just fine. If you want some chlorine, though, and have a car, head up to the Josh Davis Natatorium (25Y/M) and Bill Walker Pool (50M) -- www.neisd.net/.../aquatics.html. I had great swims in both pools there a couple of years ago when I was there for a conference.

I was in San Antonio several years ago and I swam at a YMCA. I paid on the first day and when I went back the next day, they said that my pass was good for 24 hours and I didn't have to pay for the second day! I stayed near the Riverwalk and I walked to they Y - it was a bit of a hike - but I counted it as my dry land.

Ande, hotel pool would be the last option. Actually, the River Walk itself would technically be the last option... Although you wouldn't have to worry about clogging any drains if you swam there!
