I visited West Hollywood Aquatics at West Hollywood Park about this time last year and had a very nice swim. I'm swimming with the West Hollywood Masters this week. It's a pleasant 20 minute walk from my hotel. VERY nice bunch of people, very friendly & welcoming. Decent pool, coach on deck, about 4000 in 1.5 hours, including lots of stroke sets. The Verdict +1 to USMS discussion board for being such an excellent resource! +1 to all who answered for such excellent suggestions! +1 to ourswimmer for hitting the bullseye! +1 to West Hollywood Aquatics for being such wonderful hosts! THANK YOU!

The most diverse set of locations is probably found here -- http://www.swim.net/scaq.cfm. Click on their Schedule and/or SCAQ pools and you can probably find something that works for you. I've swum with them at a few pools. UCLA Masters is probably closest (www.recreation.ucla.edu/insidepage.aspx, but I've never swum there. Even LA traffic is not that bad at 5am so hopefully you can find something. Santa Monica College and the Culver City pool are also pretty easy to get to from West Hollywood. Just like pwb said, go to the SCAQ web site he linked and click their Pools and Schedule links.

Thanks for the suggestions! West Hollywood Aquatics is less than a mile from my hotel. UCLA is about 5 miles away. Both look like they have active masters teams &/or other opportunities. Thanks again!
