During this transition period, what can I do to help stay in swimming shape? Running doesn't seem to help at all. I can go to the gym, do yoga, pilates, etc. Advice appreciated

RE: New job, new schedule, not much time to swim--alternatives?

I'd totally disagree that running wouldn't help. It's great for aerobic conditioning, helps keep weight down (if that's needed) and is the most flexible and easy way of getting exercise into a busy schedule. I wouldn't say that it will prepare you, on its own, for racing, but for general fitness it will do a lot to keep you ticking over.

RE: New job, new schedule, not much time to swim--alternatives?

Definitely include yoga during this time! It will keep your body flexible. Good luck until you get back into your swim groove!
