Theoretically, when two dark swimmers collide, they release a backstroker and a breaststroker. Sir/Ma'am, I believe you are incorrect. The collision between a dark swimmer and light swimmer would release a backstroker and breaststroker. If two dark swimmers collide, the result would be the same as two light swimmers colliding, i.e, bumped heads and bruised egos. I am troubled, however, by how you've neglected to take into account the reaction of the dark swimmer and the light water with which the pool is filled. I could do the math to show how large the resulting explosion would be, but that would just be silly.

My guess is one less than the number should be as I won't be there :badday: Don't worry about missing this meet. 1) It is short couse yards...blah. 2) Do you really want to be stuck in the middle of corn fields for a week? ;-)

So... when there are empty lanes at meets... those are actually dark swimmers that no one can see? This makes total sense to me. seriously! SO sad I can't be there. I was so excited to hear it would be only 2 states away... but, unfortunately, we just didn't have the money this year. super bummed. :badday: what, may I ask led to the backstroker/breaststroker theorem on the dark swimmer? we need more scientific evidence to support this...

In fact, it's about the only natatorium spacious enough for that. I love, love, love that pool. And, to be honest, I truly love the city of Indianapolis, as well. I've spent a lot of time there over the years for work and it's a great town.

You guys are just guessing. How about a more scientific approach, hmmm? Start with the circumference of the earth, 40075160 meters, and then multiply by the population of Western Australia (2118500). Then divide by the capacity of the IUPUI Natatorium (4700 in the stands plus 1500 on deck) and then (this step is important!) subtract the volume capacity of the IUPUI main pool plus the diving well (5488847.081 liters). Divide by 8675309 for the win: 1577.803716 swimmers. DONE. You forgot to subtract the 6 lane, 50 meter warm-up/down pool at IUPUI

And that cumulative effect will vary based on whether 6th events are in or out, how many of the splashes are in backstroke events, how many swimmers elect to start in the water in forward-start events, and of course Heisenburg's Uncertainty Principle.
