Thanks.. We are on hold for now as he missed the zones team by .01 hundredths of a second..but that's swimming!! i do now have time to fit him for his new suit as I know that's why he dropped 6 seconds in his 200fly last Saturday.. That was the golden carrot...and at 14 he deserves it!! thanks for your replies though...

Hey Majick, Recently I wrote some Swim Faster Faster (SFF) Tips on which Racing Suits to Rock Most males should wear a racing suit that is a size or 2 smaller. IE: my waist is 34 to 36 & I've raced in a size 30, 32, & 34 suits. the 30 was very hard to get on the first time. The it stretched out some. I prefer suits that are high waisted (where the top is worn closer to the belly button) Also the waist isn't the issue, our waists tend to be smaller than our hips & butt. A great racing suit provides compression, a better surface than skin and a slight amount of float while allowing the swimmer ease of movement for stroke motions. Hope he swims best times, Ande

He should wear a 24 or 26 in this suit, more likely a 24. It should not be a pleasant experience getting it on.

What size did you order? I sacrificed longevity over compression by sizing up, but with a 30 - 31 waist I still have a difficult time rolling on a 32 tyr ap12 (low waist). I sized up because I didn't want to destroy the suit over time putting it on and off. It has seen 7 events and I have put it on 6 times. It still has the same characteristics as it did the first swim although one thread has popped. But this is a different suit with different size

My waist is 34.I wear a 32 suit for practice and a 30 LZR Elite for meets. I highly recommend against the Speedo FS3,but for anyone who wants one,don't size down.I could barely get into the 34. The Arena carbon also suit doesn't size down much.I got a 32 for Indy and it is very tight,no way I could get in to a 30.
