Thanks!

Vitamin C neutralizes chlorine and bromine. You can get commercial products like "SwimSpray", but it's easy and cheap to make your own. I started out making a vitamin C and water spray using vitamin C crystals and water in a spray bottle, then used a squeeze bottle... Now I just dump some dissolved crystals in every new shampoo and body wash bottle (about a tablespoon dissolved in 1/2 cup or so of water for an economy sized bottle). A little bit works great. Too much (that you don't or can't rinse out enough) can be harder on your hair and suits than chlorine. But even then you smell fine.

I have some CVS vitamin C tablets... I wonder if those would work as well if I crushed them... but I also noticed that the shampoo and conditioner I've been using recently, Burt's Bees Super Shiny with Mango, already has ascorbic acid (aka vitamin C) as one of the ingredients. So, maybe the solution was already right in front of me and I didn't realize it?

Lots of great suggestions here. I just wanted to chime in since you specifically asked about Aubrey's. I purchased their swimmers shampoo a few months ago and hated it. I'd pass.

Good to know, thanks! I hate buying a whole bottle of something and then not liking it.

RE: Looking for "natural" anti-chlorine shampoo - Aubreys?

This sounded terrific, so I did some quick research and came across this: drdebmckay.com/.../

Cool - sounds like the vitamin C crystals might wash away the chlorine smell I get when I start sweating doing dryland activities.

RE: Looking for "natural" anti-chlorine shampoo - Aubreys?

Vitamin C neutralizes chlorine and bromine. They have a complete list of ingredients at the above link. Part of the general product description says "free of sulfates (including sodium thiosulfate formulated in many swimmers’ shampoos), parabens, propylene glycol, DEA, gluten and no sodium chloride (salt) added."

It seems to be called "Swimmers Wellness" in the bottles and "Water Action" in the smaller tube. I believe they're the same thing.

We use the conditioner, too:
