Now that all pool TT, AA and AS lists have been published, that concludes our show for 2012; thanks for playing. :-) Actually I spoke slightly too soon; Mary Beth tells me that there are some errors in the online relay AA lists (eg listing UNAT relays). There are algorithm errors and will be fixed by Mary Beth or Jim (I just push a button that generates the online lists from TT relays). I have attached a valid list of relay AAs. I apologize for any confusion.

I will assign pool All-Stars once I get the list from Mary Beth, which should happen fairly soon. "USMS Pool All-Stars are those who have achieved the most first place finishes in their age group during the year in Top Ten competition." (In the event of a tie, the tie-breaker is based on a point system using other TT swims.) *The 4th relay was 3rd fastest in the world by time, but for some reason doesn't show up on the FINA list Did the relay have a young (24 or under) person on it? FINA doesn't consider them masters swimmers and won't count any relays with them on it even if the ages add up to a recognized age group.

Booyah! I helped put together my team's (ALEX) relays at the PV SCM relay meet at George Mason in November, and we managed to put up a total of 22 relays. When I was putting in the...looooong...hours seeding all the relays, I was thinking we'd be lucky to have a handful of them crack the top ten for the year. After checking both the USMS and FINA top ten listings, we walked out of that meet with 13 national relay top ten times and 3 (should be 4*) world relay top ten times! That's far beyond my wildest expectations going into that meet, and I'm very proud of my teammates who helped put up some stellar relays! *The 4th relay was 3rd fastest in the world by time, but for some reason doesn't show up on the FINA list

Thanks everybody, and good swims Fresnoid. Our 800 and 1500 times you see there all came from the same 1500 race. The 800 times were split requests. James stopped for a break at the 800, noodled a 50, and then finished out his 1500. And our rivalry extends to more than just distance free. It's pretty much every event, though James has the advantage in breaststroke, and I have the advantage in backstroke. Last fall we actually tied in the 50y free at Bainbridge Island, though at the end of the season for that event you won't find our times among the top 10... or 20... or 50... or probably even 100. :rofl: T.G. hit the nail on the head there. I had a few times as well from Canadian Nats in the 200 Free/400 Free (and others) that would've been faster than my USMS rankings times, but they didn't count for Top Ten rules/regulations with (non)measurements (not) taken. T.G.'s distance freestyle seems to have really taken off in the past year or so, and we had quite a dual at my home masters meet in Wenatchee a month ago. In that race, I was ahead through the 2 to 300, he was ahead at the 500 & 1000, and after talking myself out of quitting early, I managed to pull even about the 1500, and it was a battle of keeping the food in our stomachs for the grind to the 1650. I.M. Events are a pretty equal battle as well. I tend to take mine out faster than him in the Fly, but the Back tends to ride his direction a bit. *** (in the IMs) tends to be about equal, and the Free he tends to have a come from behind that almost no one can stop, so we have some pretty good battles too. Fly = pretty much equal in the sprint flys, 200 Fly is hit or miss on what kind of day we're both having, but basically considered equals. Back = T.G. is king *** = :banana: (2012 Top Ten in the 100 and 200 SCM ***) It's all good to talk and joke about it here...but in the meets it's no holds barred competition to the end...then it's back to the joking around again.
