Elaine, sorry to disagree with you, but the link you provided is for Ande's original post on January 15, about the TEMPORARY closure of Belmont. The most recent comment on that thread was on January 23. My new thread is to inform eveyone that Belmont is now been PERMANENTLY closed. It will not reopen! Please carefully read the City's press release above. The City Council on Tuesday, Feb 12, will take up the issues of a temporary replacement pool outdoors and a long-tern solution of a new permanent replacment facility with both indoor and outdoor components. However, what has been presented to Council by City staff does not currently meet the standards that most of us in the aquatics community want to see. If anyone on this forum wants to see the drawings (just prelinary sketches, not detailed archtectural drawings) that City staff has presented to the Council, contact me here or at lucyjohnson1@gmail.com and I will send you the appropriate pages of staff letter to Council. The entire 161 pages of that letter contain about 150 pages of the technical engineering report justifying the closure. I can post the letter here, but would prefer not to becuase of the file size. Elaine, since you are familiar with the pool, please go to our Facebook page (see original post abbove), and "Like" it.
