Good to know, thanks. Will they replace with a different brand if one is completely unhappy with the suit? They give store credit and you can use it on anything,at least that has been my experience.

:agree:Some of the "tech" suits cannot be tried on till you buy it!! I know, a dilemma I find myself facing. I just have to hope I am ordering the right size and brand for me.

I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with Head brand swimwear. I remember seeing the label during the Olympics (European swimmers) and can find good deals on them now, but there are no reviews anywhere. I'm specifically looking at the women's liquid power knee suit, it is 71% polyamide micro/29% extra life lycra, and says it has a teflon coating. (???) Any help would be greatly appreciated! I too would like to hear more about this suit.

I don't wear jammers of course, but I have worn the Arena carbon pro for 10 months. Love it! I find that it gives much more leg compression than the B70 or Speedo LZR Elite and it feels very slippery in the water. It doesn't fit as well on top, but that's a female issue. It's a completely differently type of suit than the dud Speedo FS3. I like the Arena X-Glide better than B70 or Speedo as well. Heather, I wrote a long post recently about tech suits, but don't know how to find it with the new format. Much depends on your budget. Quick ranking: 1. Arena Carbon Pro: pricey, runs big on top* 2. Arena X-Glide: still pricey, runs big on top, but great suit to race in* 3. Speedo LZR Elite: great suit, I wish it had more leg compression 4. B70: good suit, but is cut really narrowly on top, doesn't not accomodate the girls very well 5. Speedo Pro or TYR or FINIS: more reasonably priced suits. I know quite a few people who like the Finis kneeskin. It's one I haven't tired. * The Arena suits come in a closed back version for more coverage. I would imagine Speedo will have to start making a similar model to stay competitive because the Arena suits seem to be gaining in popularity.

This is very helpful. Thanks. I guess the best thing for me to do is just try some different suits while racing. I don't have a huge budget....but I will make the best of it. All of you have been very helpful.

To add to this info from the tightwad perspective: The lowest-price Arena is also a good suit, far better IMO than anything else anywhere near its price ($120 at SwimOutlet). I do not find that it is big on top, but it is not too narrow either. Unfortunately it does not come in a closed back. The bonded Finis suit is very good, especially for core support, IF you get one without a manufacturing defect. I have now had three, even though I paid for only one, because I returned the first and second ones after the bonded "seams" started to un-bond. The third seems to be sticking together but it has a pinhole that I did not put in it.

I think I'll probably spring for the Arena carbon suit.Does anyone know how their jammers size? I wear a 30 in a B-70 or Speedo FS Pro for meets,but in the ill-fated FS 3 I had to size up to 34 to get it on(their info says you can't size down in them and it is really right.)So,what about the Arena suit?

To slightly detour to about men's suits:I need to get a new taper meet suit by Indy Nats.I have been using a B-70 Nero TX and have been very satisfied with it.I am intrigued with the Arena carbon suit.It costs nearly twice as much,but if it saves 0.1 sec/50 it is worth it to me.I bought a Speedo Fastskin 3 which is comparably priced to the Arena suit and it was a dud.I don't want another over priced dud.I want to here from people who have tried the top of the line jammers from the various companies to find out what they liked and why.I''d particularly like to hear from someone who has tried the Arena suit. Speedo FSII 50fr SCM 31.09 12/2011 TYR AP12 50fr SCM 28.59 11/2012 Of course the suit itself can't be worth 1.50 seconds for a 50 fr. It sure can help though.

I am very happy with my Finis tech suit. It fits well and I particularly like that the legs are more comfortable. The elastic on the legs is wider and feels better. Unfortunately, it's hard to tell what is right for you until you actually wear it.

Heather, I've been happy with my TYR Fusion2. I know that Fortress is a tech suit queen so I would check her blog (forums.usms.org/blog.php because I believe that she's tried almost every single one out there. It really depends on your size and body shape. For example, I needed the extra stretch of the Fusion2 after I had my baby last year since I was a little larger than I was the year before. I recommend trying them on before you buy them if you can.

I have very little experience with women's tech suits, I must admit, but I find it useful to review your needs and budget before going to town. What do you want from a suit? Compression Cut Coverage Colour Longevity Comfort of movement and what are you willing and able to pay for it? I wear Arena or Diana tech jammers, because these makes suit me. Speedo just doesn't sit right across my back and I get a stream of water down the waist band every turn. I have a Finis suit which is also good. I say find a brand that suits you, and go for the most advanced model within your budget. I don't know if an expensive suit makes me swim faster, but it feels that way. Compression and the water repellent fabric seem to be the most important factors. Also,having a good suit keeps me motivated; how can I skip practice when I've spent all that money on a bathing costume :)? (Like anyone would ever skip practice...) Hope this was useful!:2cents: PS You probably shouldn't buy jammers...
