I can't decide whether my reaction to an 800 IM is: a) You people are crazy. b) Challenge accepted! Perhaps this is a false dichotomy, now that I think about it. It's honestly not that hard of an event (granted I am a 200 flyer). It's fun to do once, but I'm not going to make a career of it. I'd rather race the 800 Free for a real time and TTs in USMS FYI: Australian Masters National Record for 800 IM in my age group. This means That Guy is winning the gridge by dropping almost 15 seconds from his fastest 400 free time? Are there any future opportunities for James to redeem himself? Surely he can drop more than 15 seconds? He just needs to go 4:10 or so... I do remember going a 4:10, or I believe below a 4:10 back in the day as an age grouper/college dude in LCM 400 Free. Not sure it's possible to do now. For the record...I never approved my entry into this gridge. ;)

Remember the IM goes FLY, BACK, ***, FREE. ;) Had it been back, then fly, possibly TG would have chance at leading...till the *** anyway.

It definitely wasn't come from behind. James took it out hard in fly and led the entire way. Impressive swims by both of them! James had only done the 400 free, 200 fly, 200 IM and 200 *** beforehand. :bolt: Dang, He took out Alan in the 200 *** too. I was wrong about that one.
