1) when the did the logo change, why, and who;

I believe the current logo was introduced in 2009.

The previous logo had been in use for at least 20 years. I may have documents at work that go farther back, but here is an example of it used on the cover sheet of the 1988 Short Course Nationals results.

I think the logo before that (mid-1980's) looked something like this:
3656

The USMS History & Archives committee would have more definitive information.

RE: The USMS Website Wayback Machine

This is the logo on SwimMaster in 1982, the year of the first USMS Nats (previously held under AAU)

RE: The USMS Website Wayback Machine

Bummed your LMSC is too with it to make this list? Awesome. I even got an error loading it.

I vote for http://www.akmswim.org/. I'm going to need medication to get over that one. I sent off my entire collection of Swimmer magazine to the main offices down in Florida. Contact them for more information and maybe someone will be able to get a grant to transfer them all to this website.

RE: The USMS Website Wayback Machine

I have only been swimming with USMS for four years so....

1) when the did the logo change, why, and who;

2) can USMS bring back the Virtual Swim Series? I like that. I see the reference on the USMS website;

I joined a Swim Fit program at one of my workout pools last year. Earlier this month I received a certificate from the Swim Fit program for swimming 1,100 miles since I began their program. I'll have to post a copy of the certificate on my USMS blog.

RE: The USMS Website Wayback Machine

Well, that "Geocitiesizer" is hilarious. I had a Geocities site way back when. I went for the "upload your own HTML" option. Written in a text editor, of course :D. By today's standards, very dated and boring, but much less annoying (at least to me).

RE: The USMS Website Wayback Machine

Ah, I remember those days well. there are quite a few LMSC sites that still use frames. Some are quite hideous, but to make the finals in this category, a horrible background image turned out to be required. Nothing else causes the same response from the nervous system...
