I can&amp;#39;t remember when, but I think it was late high school when I shifted over and started breathing 2/2 in mid-distance and distance events, as well as practice. I took my cue from watching various national level swimmers that 2/2 was the way to go.

A year or two after college, I added a third SDK to my walls for all free turns. I needed a little more air going in, so I will commonly double-breath (successive strokes as you say) into my walls. Not all of them, maybe 25% of the time. I thought this was pretty bad, but then I saw Sun Yang do it regularly and didn&amp;#39;t feel so bad.

My coach still throws in a lot of bilateral breathing patterns into workouts. I think it&amp;#39;s great for balance and feel. However, if I&amp;#39;m doing anything at cruise or faster, I always prefer 2/2. I need the air!&lt;div style="clear:both;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</description></item></channel></rss>
