I'm not an expert, nor can I breaststroke worth a poop, but I can see clear differences between Cordes and the other swimmers from the videos. Above the water it looks like he has an interesting ability to flex his upper spine in to recovery. The UW views also show superior kick and an unusual ability to bend and flex with perfect fluid motion and no drag leg recovery. His start is also the best.

Any idea how to get videos of Cordes'swims?It's almost not worth it watching him - he swims so very little actual strokes in each race ;) I only saw his 200, but he was 3 strokes above water on the first lap, then 4 strokes through the 125, then 5 strokes I think on the 150 and 175 lap. I stopped counting on his last lap as it was just so fun to watch. He is so incredibly powerful, streamlined and beautiful to watch.

Interesting fact for you. Sisters Amber and Courtney McDermott were both on NCAA champion teams (Georgia and Emory, respectively). And both placed third in the 500 free and second in the 1650 free!
