Want to get back into it. What should I be looking for in a competition suit? I don't necessarily need the top of the line, but something better than a grab bag practice suit:bliss

RE: competition suits

I like the speedo aquablade, metroswimshop.com/product.705965,705966_OOPS.htm. It's light and slick in the water, and lasts a pretty long time. It also is pretty cheap.

RE: competition suits

Something you feel confident and comfortable in is a good place to start.

I wear one of these www.swimoutlet.com/.../5835.htm

I like the kneeskin as it holds my wobbly bits in better than a tank and provides more buoyancy at the hips which is great for fly and free. I can actually go down 2 sizes compared with my practice suit so its a tight fit, but still reasonably comfortable. I would prefer that it was lower at the front, I sometimes feel that it "strangles" me with the super-high neck, but its a great price compared with other kneeskins out there, so it works for me.

Generally for racing you'll want to go down a size or 2. A standard Lycra suit is fine, and I even see a lot of people racing in Endurance suits at our local meets, so don't feel you have to splurge on something super-technical.

Yingfa suits are a great price-point too, but the sizing is a little different. If you order one & its not right, George gives excellent customer service!
