That sounds more like an higher level EMT or a Paramedic certification. The Red Cross is the main lifeguarding certification which takes about a week to complete. I believe they also have an open water certification. There is also J. Ellis which is like a risk management company that has certification that&#39;s a little more intense than the Red Cross.
