Does anyone know the usual publication schedule for World Aquatics Top Ten? I know 2024 was very delayed and come out quite late in the year last year, but when is the normal publication?

I am attending Springs Nationals in Greensboro. May 1st Nationals. I am coming more for the social then the competition, swimming only 2 events.

I grew up in Statesville, NC, swam for the team there and competed at NC states meets with the old Western Carolina Swim Associations (Statesville, Hickory, Shelby, Salisbury, Gastonia and Morganton). Then swam at UCLA with stints at Foxcatcher in Philly and Mission Viejo in the summer. I will be attending the Friday night social event and hoping to reach out and connect with old friends.

2026 Spring Nationals - Seeding Decisions

The 1000 and 1650 will be swum by time with men and women separate. The 500 free and 400 IM will be swum by age group, men and women separate. All individual events 200 and under will be preseeded.

The 6th event is individual to each entrant - if you entered 6 events, you had to declare what event to drop in the event that the timeline is too long.

From the meet info:

National Qualifying Times/Number of Events/Sixth Event

Competitors may enter up to three (3) individual events without meeting the national qualifying times, or a maximum of six (6) events if they meet the NQTs (i.e. have swum a time equal to or better than the NQTs during the past two years). Exception: Competitors entering the 1650 freestyle must meet the NQT. See NQT frequently asked questions here.

All swimmers are limited to three (3) individual events per day. If the meet is deemed too large, an athlete’s sixth event will be dropped. Swimmers entering six events must indicate which event is to be dropped in case the timeline is too long. No refunds will be given if the sixth event is dropped. A decision on the sixth event will be announced at usms.org by April 10.

It is my understanding Angie is facing a tribunal in April to decide whether she is banned from USMS as apparently standing up for your rights and fairness ain't cool. Why USMS wants this smoke baffles the mind.

part 4 of the USMS rule book talks about Participation, Conduct, Hearings and Appeals.

As for board meeting minutes, I have the same access as every other regular USMS member and have no knowledge how or when the grievance was discussed.
What is apparent though, since that is the normal procedure when you file a grievance, is that the NBR accepted the grievance. Otherwise there would be none at this point.

USMS is no longer being run by a board of directors, but by activist committee members and the national office. It (the N.O.) uses threats and the weakness of the President and BoD to terrorize people into allowing a chosen few to run USMS as they please. I was censured by the NBR in 2020 for idly remarking to a secretary that the covid virus came from China. Since then, the organization has shown a very woke value system based on unknown sources.

Not sure Angie is being sued in court or (very likely) getting a kangaroo trial by hand picked members of the National Board of Review.

Britta, can you provide a link to the board meeting notes where the grievance has been being discussed as well as the USMS policy on unsportsmanlike conduct? I'd also like to know if anyone can report how much USMS has spent on legal fees since this incident at nationals occurred? I spoke with a couple attorney friends who are swimmers and familiar with what's been going on, both felt that USMS would have incredible exposure if they proceeded to ban Angie from the sport as her first amendment rights would very likely be seen as being violated and for slandering her.

I have zero understanding and so if Angie physically assaulted someone or did something equally egregious, punish her. Otherwise, it appears to us uneducated masses as retribution. If it was words, she should have never been required to defend herself in the first place.

I'm happy to clarify that all that this is is that an internal grievance was filed against her for unsportsmanlike behavior. No courts involved, no law suits. An internal grievance. So yeah, both sides are apparently standing up for fairness because unsportsmanlike behavior is not cool.

And I hope a grievance like that would be filed against any member who is breaking USMS code of conduct.

Below is the list of regional clubs for 2026. This list was compiled based on 2025 and prior records, current 2026 LMSC registrations, and correspondence with LMSC officers.

Any club wishing to inquire about their designation has 45 days prior to the event to make the inquiry. This equates to March 16 for Spring Nationals and June 21 for Summer Nationals.

In future, be careful of one event entries meets (OEVT). I believe, if they allow one event registration (one time 20 dollar fee and no yearly registration), the whole meet becomes suspect I guess. World aquatics will not accept my 1500 time because the meet I participated in allowed this.
