I admit I have a bad habit of grabbing the gutter when I'm dying for air. Is that option going to be unavailable due to those high Omega kind of boards?

RE: IU Natatorium

Well ---- that should give you a chance to improve your turns without a grab.
I have practiced using flat hands at turns to get myself ready for pools that have high or other ends for this reason.
Either way, enjoy the meet.

RE: IU Natatorium

IU has both kinds of touch pads. Generally, they only use the tall, flat wall type for FINA (LCM or SCM) type competition. I expect they will have the low gutter type for Spring Nationals. They do have kick plate starting blocks and I expect they will have backstroke ledges. I am not from Indianapolis, but I have swum many events there.

RE: IU Natatorium

Well ---- that should give you a chance to improve your turns without a grab.

Thanks! I told myself I would practice turns with flat hands, but that didn’t happen enough. Oh well....

RE: IU Natatorium

maybe I should have played it safe and only entered freestyle

RE: IU Natatorium

Unless they've recently changed, they have the normal touch pads that allow you to grab on.

RE: IU Natatorium

I think it's the tall gutters at IUPUI. I haven't been there since they redid everything though.

EDIT: I found a picture! Though it is before the redo. Looks like short gutters.
