The 1650 and 1000 will be seeded men and women together, strictly by time, slowest to fastest.

RE: 1650/1000/500 at Indianapolis

Maybe they're waiting to see if they have enough in certain age groups to constitute a full heat.

Normally what they'll do in those situations is have some heats that have combined age groups, but always make sure the fastest eight (or fastest swimmers, if less than eight are entered in that age group) are all in the same heat.

RE: 1650/1000/500 at Indianapolis

Maybe they're waiting to see if they have enough in certain age groups to constitute a full heat.

RE: 1650/1000/500 at Indianapolis

I think this means they may seed everyone together or seed by age group.

I'm confused as well. I see why they'd seed by time for the 1650 and 1000 but the 500 should be by age group and time, I hope. The best race I ever saw was the 45-49 500 free final heat last year.

RE: 1650/1000/500 at Indianapolis

The 500 may be seeded slowest to fastest.
